Big break in the school yard of the Freiherr vom Stein school. The pupils are talking or playing. Amidst them is Felix, twelve years old. He is always with them. Now it is necessary for him to measure his blood sugar because he has diabetes. The blood sugar level is permanently elevated in this disease.
A fellow pupil talks to Felix while the latter is measuring his blood sugar. Felix explains to him that this has to do with his diabetes. That is why he must regularly check his blood glucose level. If the values are too high or too low, he does not feel well.

It is estimated today that there are 240 million people with diabetes worldwide, in Germany there are supposed to be about 6.5 million suffering from either diabetes type 1 or type 2.
